Catherine Capellaro (librettist) and co-conspirator Andrew Rohn (composer) created the Off-Broadway sensation Walmartopia and the cult classic Temp Slave. She is a writer, performer, and editor, who currently resides in Madison, Wisconsin. Catherine and Andrew have created more than 10 original musical comedies. Their upcoming show, a benefit for the Bartell Community Theatre is titled Blasphemy: An Unholy Trinity of Musicals by Rohn and Capellaro.

Catherine Capellaro and Andrew Rohn (wife-and-husband collaborators) met in 1991 at the iconic Broom Street Theater in Madison. They have appeared on CNN, Al Jazeera, and in hundreds of print an online articles featuring their Off-Broadway hit Walmartopia. After a four-month engagement in New York, Walmartopia will be produced next in Washington, D.C. Catherine and Andrew are working on a brand-new trio of musicals called Blasphemy, which opens in January 2009 as a benefit for the Bartell Theatre in Madison, Wis.

As a writer, Capellaro has been published in The Progressive, Mother Jones, the Wisconsin State Journal, the Capital Times, Rethinking Schools, and numerous other newspapers and magazines. She is the former managing editor of Rethinking Schools and associate editor of the Progressive Media Project. She also helped launch a local evening news program at WORT-FM and was an anchor and reporter at Wisconsin Public Radio. She currently freelances for the Journal of Consumer Research and Isthmus, among others.

Catherine Capellaro spent four years as associate editor at the Progressive Media Project, an op-ed distribution service affiliated with The Progressive magazine. She also worked for four years as managing editor of Rethinking Schools. She has also done professional proofreading and copyediting for clients such as Politics and Society and Impressions book publishing. She currently works on the publicity team for the Journal of Consumer Research.

Catherine Capellaro helped found a nightly local news program on Madison's community radio station, WORT-FM. She produced, anchored, wrote, and trained a number of volunteers, and has appeared on WORT numerous times as a guest and pledge rapper. She produced several radio theater events that were broadcast on WORT. She also served as an anchor and reporter for Wisconsin Public Radio.

As a performer, Catherine has acted in numerous Mercury Players' and Broom Street Theater shows, including many versions of Temp Slave. She has taken writing and improv classes with the multi-talented Jodi Cohen and studies improv with Brad Knight of the Monkey Business Institute.

Catherine is a vocalist and trumpeter in the disco-funk phenomenon V05. She creates children's music with the Madgadders and is a former member of The Merkins.
